~ART WALK LINE-UP~

DANCING IN THE STREETS!
Well... sort of

Join us at the Lenin Statue for some sunny disco dance tunes brought to you by the infamous Slowpoke Crew!

After years of planning, the Slowpøke crew, the trio of Shawn D, Jeremy B and Donte P, came up with a brilliant idea: to play other people's music. With almost a hundred years of music-listening experience between them across a multitude of genres, the crew knows what it takes to make music be heard, and they're more than willing to do just that.

Roy Powell's most recent paintings are a mixture of nostalgia and technology. While the paintings are completely analog, they take on characteristics of digital pixilation. In our rapidly changing landscape, he is trying to document a part of Seattle that is slipping away. Roy graduated from Seattle U in 2006 and has since been painting and showing work regionally. He co-founded Local1520, an art studio and gallery, on Capitol Hill.

She tells us that she started developing her technique almost 5 years ago:
“The canvas built of wood, using plaster/fresco base, color oil pastels, acrylic, oil, milk and clay paints.  The lines are etched, and finished with layers of wax.”
For Emily “the hands are connected to the heart".

Artist: Marianne Maksirisombat

Marianne Maksirisombat's work is a colorful journey through the abstract, a passionate exploration of vivid hues and evocative color combinations.
The environmentally engaging paintings, whether presented on traditional canvas or on three dimensional formed steel constructions, interact with the surroundings and the viewer's perspective, creating with each experience a unique conversation of shifting light and form. While this is demonstrated in the online Gallery by multiple images of some pieces, to experience these paintings in person is essential.
